Prosilient Technologies is a Swedish company developing products for monitoring, assessments and supervision of QoS performance of IP networks. The customers are service providers, operators and enterprise IT departments as well as development labs. Prosilient's product portfolio support SLA definition and supervision, KPI measurements and consultancy services.
Unique feature of the solution is measurement accuracy on microsecond (10e-6) level, even for considerable amount of loss packets and lack any exterior source of the sync. To achieve Prosilient developed and patented his own methodology.

The Prosilient Way of Measuring
Prosilient Technologies has chosen to implement a cost effective measurement solution, based on a number of measurement probes installed in the network under test. Measurement sessions are set-up between the probes. In a fully meshed fashion or in a reduced mesh fashion.
The measurement sessions will inject configurable packet streams into the network under test and collect the result for each packet stream. The result is then analyzed and presented in different graphs and reports. The purpose to inject a packet stream into the network is to be able to experience the network characteristics from an end-user point of view. The packet stream is configurable in different taste and flavor, i.e. bandwidth, packet size and encapsulation.

The supported streams/encapsulations are:

1. VoIP streams using RTP with a configurable set of CODECs.
2. Custom RTP streams.
3. Custom UDP streams.
4. Custom TCP streams.
5. Custom GRE streams.
6. Custom ICMP streams.

The measurements probe are all supervised and managed by a central node, running Prosilient Technologies PT-Analyzer software package. PT-Analyzer is a multi purpose tool used for measurement configuration, result analyze and report generation.
